Advice was once given to me by my mentor, Magnum Photographer, David Alan Harvey: Research as many photographers as you can. Get to know their work and why it’s important and how it relates to the topics I’m working with. Ask your self Has this topic been covered? By Who?

This is important for two reasons – first, knowing the work of others helps you build your story better. It helps to know who you might be compared to and who’s styles resemble your own. Secondly it’s important to know other photographers because as a you grow, many of these people may become your colleagues and you should know their work so you can talk about it.

This page is an ongoing collection of links to the sites of many photographers, publishers, festivals, and agencies. I am always looking at and researching other people’s work and ways to publish and show work. I hope this page can help serve students and other photographers alike as a reference tool. If you think there is a photographer I should add, please send me a link to their site and I will review it.
