Photographer Resource

Advice was once given to me by, Magnum Photographer, David Alan Harvey: Research as many photographers as you can. Get to know their work and why it’s important and how it relates to the topics you’re working with. ‘Has this topic been covered?’ ‘By Who?’ ‘Why does it matter?’

This is important for two reasons – first, knowing the work of others helps you build your story better. It helps to know who’s work yours may be compared to and who’s styles resemble your own. Secondly it’s important to know other photographers because as a you grow, many of these people may become your colleagues and you should know their work.

This page is an ongoing collection of links to the sites of many photographers, publishers, festivals, agencies and more. I am always looking at and researching other people’s work and ways to publish and show my own work. I hope this page can help serve students and other photographers alike as a reference tool. If you think there is a photographer I should add, please send me a link to their site and I will review it.
