Exhibition Quality Prints for Digital Art
Holding a physical print of work made digitally can feel like magic. It’s a transformative experience, for both the art and artist, to see the work come out of the digital realm it was created in and be made physical. We know how challenging it is to find a printer able to accurately reproduce your vision onto paper without compromising the color, tones or details. We will work one on one with you to ensure the colors and tones of your work match vision and expectations. We also help you pick the paper that best suits the work to elevate it into an object.
Printing Graphic Design and Digital Art: What To Know
The first thing to consider is your creation process. Do you work with Vector Art or Rasterized Art? Vector art can be rescaled easily to print at any size without loss of resolution or clarity. Whereas raster art, art that includes photographs and illustrations, digitally painted elements, etc, has an upper limit to how large they can print with integrity.
Resolution and Image Size
We recommend setting your image resolution to 360 ppi or 720 ppi during export. This is higher than the usual 300 ppi because our printer has higher print resolution than standard. Because of this, we’re able to print with finer detail and clarity.
For sizing your artwork we generally recommend exporting your art at a size larger than you may initially intend to print at. We can easily and quickly rescale to any smaller size you need.
File Types
We accept .tif, .png, .jpg and .pdf. We strongly recommend sending us a .tif file of your work. We’re a little different than ordinary online print companies because we are focused on retaining the integrity of your work and producing the highest quality prints possible. If you are unsure how to export your work or have concerns about doing so, we are happy to work one-on-one with you, with no judgement.
Color Depth and Color Profiles
For the best results, export your files at 16-bit depth AdobeRGB, 16bit depth Gray Gamma 2.2 for grayscale or 16bit depth US Web Coated SWOP for CMYK.If working in CMYK and when possible, we advise converting files to AdobeRGB and correcting any color deviations prior to sending files to us. If you are not sure how, we can convert and correct these images in-house. In special cases, where CMYK is vital to your work, we can profile our paper to ensure maximum CMYK compatibility.
Unmatched Color and Resolution.
We use 12-color archival pigment inks paired with the finest art papers to achieve archival quality prints that will last 100+ years when cared for. Together, our 12-color print system paired with its higher than standard resolution, we will turn your digital creations into fine art prints that will hold value and create an air of presence on any wall in your home or gallery.
